Encouraging an influx of innovation and new ideas is the aim of the College Cryptography Network’s (CCN) Borderless Block Chain Party. The CCN is a global community for students involved in cryptocurrency and other decentralized technology study, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping students across the world collaborate and innovate together to showcase the possibilities of cryptocurrency technology.

The Borderless Block Chain party itself is a month long event, starting on November 1, 2015, and is designed to be a driving force for new ideas and innovation for participants to bring new products and uses of decentralized technologies to the world. The idea is to find that new product or application that changes the industry itself, with idea exchanges and collaboration across the globe to provide a real driving force of creativity for the industry.

All participants must be currently enrolled on courses, whether that be high school, online or university, and entrants can register on their own or as a team of up to five students. With the entire event being hosted online, groups do not even have to be local to each other, and a channel has been set up to allow participants to find others to collaborate with quickly and easily.

All participants will be provided with various APIs and services to allow them to create new block chain based tech, with advice and mentorship available from some of the events sponsors, helping students sharpen their technical skills and produce exciting new uses for block chain tech. It is this environment of creativity that will bring true innovation and, they hope, industry changing use of block chain technology that makes a real world difference.

The most innovative and unique uses of the tech will win prizes donated by the events significant number of industry sponsors, which include Tally Capital, Rise, Augur, Blockchain, Consensys, Bitcoin Wednesday, Factom, Ethereum, Alt Options and Clef, with the ultimate prizes including a vacation to Ibiza for a week.

For the cryptocurrency industry this event could possibly be a game changer, with new ideas developed to become viable projects for the future, however the main thing it does is get the brightest minds involved with the industry through the mentorship and puts new tools in the hands of our future developers. The collaboration based element is also something that will bring long term benefit, developing working relationships and building on new outlooks that will ultimately benefit the wider industry. This event is a great sign, that the industry itself is maturing and looking to seek out new ideas generate the next advances in both the technology itself and the wider range of applications for decentralized systems.

Pushing boundaries has been at the core of the cryptocurrency industry since it began, it is healthy for the industry itself to be seeking out those that will continue this so early in their development.
