Newegg Now Accepts Bitcoin Payments in 73 Nations

California-based tech e-retailer Newegg announced on Wednesday that it will now accept Bitcoin as a payment option in 73 nations. According to the press release announcing the news, customers in “nearly all of the countries the company serves worldwide” can now use Bitcoin in Newegg’s online stores.

Newegg began working with BitPay to provide its U.S. and Canadian customers with a Bitcoin payment option back in 2014. The company claims that there have been no chargebacks for any of those transactions during the last five years.

Newegg President for Global Sales Anthony Chow highlighted their customers’ satisfaction with the additional option:

“Five years ago, we were one of the first major online shopping destinations to accept Bitcoin, and our early-adopter customers were quick to embrace this new payment option.

Broadening the ability to pay with Bitcoin to the majority of our global network underscores our commitment to bring innovation to the online shopping experience, and answers customers’ growing preference for our Bitcoin payment option.”
